Taylor Swift: Language and Representations blog tasks

Taylor Swift: Language and Representations blog tasks Narrative Go to our Media Magazine archive (issue MM79 ) and read the feature All Too Well on Taylor Swift and how she controls her own narrative. Answer the following questions:  1) Why is Taylor Swift re-recording her earlier albums?  With his purchase of the label, Scooter Braun became  the owner of Swift’s masters, which he sold to Disney’s  Shamrock Holdings (a private investment firm run by  the Disney family) in late 2020 on the condition that  he would continue to financially profit from them.  Swift quickly announced her intentions to re-record  her Big Machine albums, which would give her complete  ownership of the records and nullify Braun’s involvement. She did this to regain control and take back what is rightfully hers. 2) Why did Taylor Swift choose to make the short film 'All Too Well'?  In choosing to make the song  into a short film, rather than just a music vi...

Media Assessment 2 learner response (feb mock)

FEB MOCK ASSESSMENT LEARNER RESPONSE: 1) Type up your feedback in  full  (you don't need to write the mark and grade if you want to keep it confidential). WWW: Jaspreet, top performance throughout, well done! Your Q2 + Q3 were particularly excellent - lots of knowledge and understanding demonstrated e.g. James Murdoch reference for Q3 on PSBs. This exemplifies all the detailed blog work you're completing. Next steps: 1) more depth needed for unseen media text analysis- see mark scheme. 2) Q4- although very good- you're missing media text examples to support your argument- this will become easier once we study relevant CSPs however some questions invite you to consider your own knowledge of media texts. LR- see blog  Mark= 35/43 Grade= A 2) Read the mark scheme for this assessment carefully (this has been posted to your exam teacher's Google Classroom). Identify at least one potential point that you missed out on for each question in the assessment.  Q1) The gold, tex...

Year 13 baseline assessment learner response

Baseline assessment learner response 1) Type up your feedback in full (you don't need to write the mark and grade if you want to keep this confidential). WWW: strong assessment, strong knowledge and understanding of BBC Newsbeat CSP and the BBC remit. Essay on magazine is strong and again has lots of knowledge and understanding of both CSPs in relation to the focus around audiences. EBI: Your Q3 is clear but it is missing reference to industries (see mark scheme for indicative content). In addition, more relevant linked examples/theories would strengthen this further. 31/40 = A 2) Focusing on the BBC Newsbeat question, write three ways it helps to fulfil the BBC's mission statement that you didn't include in your original assessment answer. Use the mark scheme for ideas. Newsbeat offers educational content through some of the news stories selected to be in the daily bulletins. Examples include a Newsbeat story on a project highlighting street harassment of women which ser...
